The Rules
  1. The competition will run from 17 July 2011 to 31 July 2011, both dates inclusive.
  2. The competition is open to all adult members of the public* – i.e., you must be over 18 to enter. This is because the prizes are tickets to see our films, which have an age restriction of 18. * Out In Africa South African Gay and Lesbian Film Festival staff and their immediate family are not eligible to enter.
  3. By entering this competition, you consent to have your name and email entered into our mailing list, and to receive email communications from us from time to time. Opportunity to unsubscribe from these communications is provided with every email.
  4. You must provide the correct answer to the question in order to qualify. There is only 1 deliberate mistake in our August festival programme. Other mistakes/typos may be found, but there is only 1 correct answer.
  5. In the event that you win, you will be contacted telephonically on the Cellphone number provided. Failing three (3) attempts within 2 days of the draw date, by us to contact you telephonically, you will be disqualified from the competition.
  6. If you are unable for any reason whatsoever to accept the prize or adhere to these Terms and Conditions, you will be disqualified. Should you be disqualified in any of the above-mentioned instances a new winner will be re-drawn from the remaining qualifying participants in accordance with the same process and procedures as applicable to the original draw.
  7. The prize elements for the promotion are as follows:
    1. Five (5) winners in the Johannesburg area will win 10 tickets each to the festival in Johannesburg.
    2. Five (5) winners in the Cape Town area will win 10 tickets each to the festival in Cape Town.
  8. Only one (1) competition entry will be accepted per person.
  9. No person is eligible to win more than once.
  10. The prize is not exchangeable for cash and is non-replaceable. Lost tickets will not be re-issued.
  11. Prize winners will, on acceptance of the prize, be requested to participate in publicity events. This could, inter alia, be for broadcast or publishing purposes.
  12. Should any dispute arise as a result of the prize, Out In Africa South African Gay and Lesbian Film Festival will not be held liable or engage in any dispute between the customer and any third party to resolve such disputes.
  13. Out In Africa South African Gay and Lesbian Film Festival will not be held responsible for incorrect information supplied by you.
  14. Winners will be selected randomly from the correct entries by our Financial Officer.
  15. An Out In Africa representative will notify the winners by telephone within 24 hours of the draw date.
  16. The prizes will be sent by registered post in a discrete envelope, or else may be collected from our offices, by arrangement.
  17. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  18. Any person that has entered into the competition will be deemed to have accepted the competition rules and agreed to be bound by them.
  19. We will not be held liable for any misrepresentation caused due to a copy error, typing error and/or omission that may occur on any of our promotion and promotional material.
  20. Out In Africa South African Gay and Lesbian Film Festival reserves the right to revise, alter or amend any of the Terms and Conditions or any associated marketing device relating to this promotion with written notice or publication on www.oia.co.za
