And Then Came Lola
Dir: Ellen Seidler and Megan Siler
USA 2009 70min
CPT: Fri 26th Feb @ 7pm ♥ Sat 27th Feb @ 8:30pm ♥ Sun 28th Feb @ 7pm ♥ Mon 1st Mar @ 8:30pm ♥ Tues 2nd Mar @ 7pm ♥ Wed 3rd Mar @ 8:30pm ♥ Thur 4th Mar @ 7pm ♥ Fri 5th Mar @ 8:30pm ♥ Sat 6th Mar @ 7pm
Inspired by the indie hit Run Lola Run, this lesbian feature’s Lola also has three opportunities to get it right… Racing helter-skelter through the striking streets of San Francisco, Then Along Came Lola is an action comedy that is part travel-log, part personal journey realised, and completely fun and enticing. Living a happy, yet chaotic, commitment-phobic existence, photographer Lola literally exhausts herself trying to impress new squeeze Casey, a gorgeous, straight-laced designer who is pitching for work with Danny (Cathy Debuono) – who just oozes sex appeal. Danny is obviously smitten with Casey, and Lola must pull out all the stops, use all her wiles and get her act together to get Casey the job and hold Casey’s attention. Nothing is simple in Lola’s world, obstacles conspire against her and she must run and run and run. Check out their home page and their Facebook page.
BEYOND GAY – The Politics of Pride
Dir: Bob Christie
Canada 2009 85min
CPT: Sat 27th Feb @ 6:15pm ♥ Sun 7th Mar @ 6:30pm
Beyond Gay looks at the dynamics of Pride celebrations around the world, dramatically juxtaposing the now relative ease of organising these huge displays of Queer solidarity in both North and South America with the scary and politically loaded protests that mark the Prides of Sri Lanka, Russia and Poland – where state-sanctioned homophobia and violence is the norm. The film reveals the vast spectrum of Pride, from Sao Paulo’s government-sponsored celebration that has grown to include over three million people in just 10 years, to Moscow and Warsaw Pride, where a few brave souls dare to march among violent right-wingers. While also joyful and inspirational, this powerful film is a simple call to action.
Executive Producer, Charlie David, will present this award winning film (Best Documentary – Image + Nation, Montreal 2009) at the Out In Africa Cape Town Pride Film Festival première. Check out their home page for loads of yummy details: http://biggaymovie.com/bgm/

So, you’ve spent many alternately fun and frustrating years finding Mr Right, as opposed to Mr. Right-Now, but once you’ve found him, is he really the right man for you … ?
A hom-rom-com, Mr Right is a flirtatious glimpse into the intimate Soho-based lives of three gorgeous London gay couples through the eyes of their best female friend, Louise. Young and enthusiastic actor/caterer Alex is in a supposedly solid relationship with Harry, a jaded reality TV producer. Art dealer William wants to embark on a rocky ride with soap star Lawrence, but his pre-teen daughter has dug in her precocious heels. Pretentious ‘gay artist’ Tom desperately clings to Lars, his kept boyfriend with overt wanderlust. A catastrophic dinner party tips the balance and forces the friends out of their comfort zones. Mr Right is a witty and engrossing trip guide to gay London. Check out their Facebook page, where you can see trailers, clips from the soundtrack, photos and more.
