Synopsis
Though handsome, at thirty, Parisian hustler Vassilli’s career is over – Johns may age, but their sagging attempts at sex need the perfection of youth to lift them. Do we need an explanation for Vassilli’s sudden urge to kill? If so, we don’t get one, but are dropped right in the middle of it. After one such random murderous attempt, Vassilli rescues the fallen Angelo, and the men pair up as lovers and tricks. Through them, we meet the kinky and the pathetic, those who need more unusual stimuli to achieve their paradise. A botched murder attempt and they are forced to flee Paris, and a brief stopover with Anna provides a further inkling of the variety of Vassilli’s hustling youth. Finally, at the country chalet of Vassilli’s first trick, the generous and wealthy Victor, they find paradise. Can it last? There are superb performances from Stéfane Rideau and Béatrice Dalle (Betty Blue), intriguing scenarios and great cinematography, but no answers.
